I had one of those horrible days at work, where my ego completely got deflated, undeservingly. I got denied a salary increase for the extra work I've been doing for the past 7 months. It isn't just the regular acceptance of additional responsibilities when another employee leaves and is not replaced...This was above and beyond, especially for the title I currently hold. Obviously, I did not take it well at all.
STEX came home, and it was pretty clear something was bothering me, so he asked, and I told him what happened. Somehow, he always ruins the opportunity to be the consoling human being. Let's see...petted my hair, which I absolutely hate. Kept doing it even when I told him to stop. Asked if I wanted water, even though I had an open bottle on the nightstand. Ok, that seems nice, right? It is, unless, as he did, unless you keep asking repeatedly, when I tell you "no" over and over again.
Wanted to borrow my cell phone because there's something wrong with his (yeah, it's called overuse and abuse), but mine was asking for the SIM (don't know why, maybe just a fluke), went on and on about me not charging my phone, blah blah blah, I said "it's mine, I charge it when I want to", a little back and forth, until he gave me the "stupid mother fucker" line, and that was it for me. Asshole.
